This morning was the big day, Steve’s 2005 MacWorld SF keynote. Unlike previous years, this one was not webcast or transmitted via satellite, leaving those of us unable to hitch a ride out to San Francisco to see the speech, stuck clicking the refresh button like mad…
And apparently, I should go into the rumor business. Last month I had a short entry about iPhoto, where I predicted that Steve would introduce the new version of iPhoto today.. .and he did, along with the rest of iLife ’05, the new miniMac, the much rumored Flash memory based iPod, Appleworks’ replacement iWork, and an updated version of Final Cut Express.
All in all a pretty good keynote, a no-show was pulled by the rumored Apple branded breakout box (code named Asteroid) that was the subject of one of the recent Apple vs NDA breaking people lawsuits.. it’ll be interesting to see when (if) that makes an appearance.
iLife ’05 looks good… I think I may pass on iWork (at least initially, maybe after the Apple stores get it installed on the Demo machines and I have a chance to play with it) none of the other announcements struck me as ‘must-haves’, but I will pre-order iLife…
Now… If I could just get Steve to introduce the 3.0Ghz (or faster) PowerMac G5s (or G6s) so I can replace my aging Flat Panel iMac..
