Maryn spent this past Wedsnday-Friday in the hospital. We took her in to the Dr. because she’d been vomiting up almost everything she ate..the Dr. sent us to Children’s Hospital ER to get IV fluids so she wouldn’t dehydrate.

The ER did everything except hook her up to fluids… and eventually admitted her to the hospital proper.. we found out Thursday morning she had Pertussis (Whooping Cough). At her age..it can be lethal! =(

She’s home, and doing ok.. an interesting tidbit we found out while in the hospital.. Colorado ranks 49th in regards to % of children vaccinated.. so.. people not vaccinating their kids… put mine in the hospital.

If you’re a parent.. Vaccinate your kid dammit! it protects EVERYONE….

angry at a couple of things right now-

1- Tivo – Yes.. they have a great product.. yes It’d be hard for me to give it up.. but c’mon guys..get your shit together.. you keep promising Mac support for TiVo2Go since its release over a year ago.. and your most recent update to the Tivo Desktop for Mac.. did shit.. absolutely nothing (well..it did make it so it could be installed under Tiger…and only about 6 months after Tiger came out.. good job guys! way to be responsive!) yet your executives keep spouting soon.. its been over a year..anything after a month doesn’t qualify as ‘soon’ so stop saying soon, and just admit that since you chose to use a craptacular DRM based on windows media player 10.. you’re never going to be able to give us this feature…yet you keep charging us for the same level of service as windows users.. so at least give Mac users a discount on monthly service, since we can’t use all your advertised features…

2 – aggrowear.com – Don’t buy from these yahoos..ever.. I tried to order something from there on the 4th.. and they proceeded to promptly charge me.. but won’t ship the product, won’t respond to requests for information, and won’t cancel the order and refund my money either — so today.. I disputed the charge with my bank.. at least I’ll get my money back on this one.

3 – Parents that don’t vaccinate! see this

So, I’m sitting there, holding Maryn in my lap while checking my email, and doing a little web surfing..

you know what the little stinker did? do you?

She pooped on me..and I’m not talking about she pooped in her diaper while sitting on my lap..

No..the little stinker had a explosive, lift you six inches up poop.. shit came leaking out of all ends of her diaper (litterally!) She got me, the chair, the carpet, her pants, her shirt..and her hair (I’m not really sure how she managed that one)

I buy her clothes and other nice things, and this is the thanks I get?

Did you know they make exploding Condoms? Me neither.. thats gotta be worse then that old exploding gum thing..

This lady decided to mail a bunch of exploding condoms to a strip club she used to work at (apparently, her tips were not that good)

Yesterday, Maryn turned 1 month old! She’s doing good.. getting big, her hair is starting to lighten up too. Maybe one day, she’ll be bigger then her poodle.

So, I’m reading the website for one of our local news stations.. and I come across this article about one of the school districts adjusting start times to try and better match when the kids will actually be awake.. this on its own, is good.. and not at all why I’m blogging about it…it also mentions in the article, how some students are against the idea.. like this guy:

One of them is it may create daycare problems, especially for adolescents who baby-sit younger siblings. “I have carpools I have to go pick up. I have young kids in other schools, I have to pick them up,” says Fireman.

Yes.. apparently, the later start (and coinciding stop) time of school will be preventing this 6th grader from Driving car-pools, and picking up his younger kids from their schools..

Is it any wonder I don’t actually try and get information from our local news?

Maryn had her 2 week checkup today…the little chunk has gained back her birth weight, and then some! She weighs in at 8lbs 1oz….a 3/4 lb gain since her appointment two weeks ago!

The doc says she’s doing excellent!

I get quite a bit of email from companies I’ve entered a contest with, registered a product with, etc… normally, I delete them without reading them. Yesterday though, I got one from M&M (you know, the melt in your mouth not in your hand candy?)
