New Arrival
Tada!
She has made her arrival. The latest member of the family – formerly known as Baby Vegas is:
Maryn Jaina
19 inches, 7 lbs 15.3 oz
10 fingers, 10 toes – still a girl.
she made her arrival at 1553 MST (For those of you with clocks that stop at 12:00, that means 3:53 pm)
No pictures to post…as I did not bring either the cord, or the card reader for the camera.. so those will have to wait till I get home Thursday or Friday to get posted.
Mom and baby are both doing fine!
Last project
One project that Janice was really looking forward to doing with Kael while she was pregnant, was letting Kael paint her belly. Its also the one thing that just kept getting pushed off for one reason or another… obviously, tonight was our last chance..
So… here’s what they looked like when they started this little art project:

The floor and carpet both got their fair share of paint as well… and, while you can’t see it in this picture… Kael’s butt is covered in paint to (apparently, it wasn’t enough for him to paint the floor, he needed to sit on the floor to paint his butt)
Baby Time!
So.. after making a trip to the hospital on Christmas eve, since it appeared Vegas was going to make her appearance then (and of course, after we get to the hospital all Labor related activity stops, so the nurses can look at us like we’re insane)
Jan’s Dr has scheduled Vegas’ arrival for Tomorrow.. so we get to wake up early, and head to the hospital to be induced.
Guess its time to come up with a name huh?

Janice has setup a little guessing game, so you can guess when Vegas will make her appearance..

Just some info to maybe help you out ~ Kael was born 3 days before his due date, he was 21.25 inches, 7 pounds 12 ounces, and he was born at 2:57 am. I am already a little more than 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. Have fun!!

Point of No Return
Janice is now 35 weeks pregnant.. which means that Vegas could arrive at any time. We’ve been told by the Dr.s that they will not stop labor, should it start for any reason now (of course…they told us this after spending 12 hours stopping her labor – which is a whole other issue-..so.. who knows if they mean it)
This has put Janice in a ‘hurry up and get it done’ mood…. she wants to finish up all the stuff we don’t have done (little things like pack the hospital bag, wash the baby’s clothes, pick out a name…)
So, last night at work, Janice sends me an email with a bunch of names on it that she wants my opinion on.. on the list was this:
Yoda Jade suggested by Kael. I think its the clear winner, and I think we’ll let Kael make the final decision
Entertainment vs Real Life
One of the shows Janice and I try and watch regularly (its one we TiVo) is CSI:Miami. Monday’s episode was about a bunch of college kids who get bored playing a video game, and decide to start playing the game in real life (they rob a bank, shoot people, take hostages.. get killed, shoot at cops, get killed.. that kind of thing)
