9 years ago today.. I took Janice on our first date. We went to “The Taste of Colorado” a yearly event where different restaurants and vendors take over 4 or 5 blocks downtown, and you can buy tickets to sample all their different food. There are also a bunch of people down there selling things (they don’t take tickets.. they seem to want real money)

I never would have thought that that date would lead to me spending 9 years with the same person…

A lot of stuff has changed since then.. we’re married, got a kid, one more on the way.. we’ve moved a few times, had our share of ups and downs, we’ve had fights.

And while things haven’t always worked out the way we might have hoped… all in all, its been a good time, and I wouldn’t have done it with anyone else.

Ok.. I think I’ve finally figured out why I can’t get some pictures to show up.. I think it has to do with the number of pixels/inch.. to many, and I guess the web browser can’t render it… maybe.. or it could just be that I’m doing something really wrong when scanning in the pictures and then resizing them.

I think… that this will be the first shirt I buy for Vegas after she’s born. (from t-shirt hell)

So, now that we know Vegas is a she, we can really start coming up with names to argue about. Here’s a quick list of names I like, and I’m pretty sure Janice will have some up on her blog soon..

And of course, Kael’s suggestion of Yoda is still in the running… but I’m having a hard time coming up with a middle name for that one..

Today, we went in for our 20 week ultrasound.. in addition to confirming that Vegas is in good health.. this ultrasound is also the one where they are able to tell with any degree of certainty what sex the baby is.. and in case you couldn’t tell by the appearance of the blog*.. The ultrasound technician chickie confirmed what we found out at the previous ultrasound.. Vegas is not a puppy or an alien.. Vegas, in fact, is a healthy girl (err.. girl to be? soon to be girl? Ehh… you know what I mean)

(There was going to be a picture of the ultrasound here…but for some reason.. when I add pictures to a post…nothing is appearing except an empty square.. I’ll have to figure that out and post a picture later)

We had another Dr. Appointment today..for some kinda ultrasoundy thing that checks for birth defects like Down’s syndrome, extra limbs, 6 heads.. you know.. that kind of stuff…

The Dr that does the screening (Not Janice’s normal Dr, these tests apparently require a special Dr), is sometimes able to try and guess the baby’s sex, even though the external genitals haven’t formed yet (that’s why people who find out, normally found out around 20 weeks…all the parts are where they belong then).

So, The Dr told us that there is a 90% chance, that Vegas is either a boy or a girl, and a 5% chance Vegas is a puppy, with a 5% chance that Janice was impregnated during an alien abduction, and will soon be giving birth to some kinda freaky alien-human hybrid that will eat everyone in the state for breakfast, before beginning a campaign to rule the world.

So, we’ve got that to look forward to, while we wait for the 20 week ultrasound to find out what sex Vegas is (unless the freaky alien-human world destroyer doesn’t have external genitals…in which case, we won’t know!)

Yesterday we took Baby Vegas (And Janice) to their 8 week checkup… The Dr told us Janice was pregnant (Gee..you think?) and then we got our first peek at baby Vegas (in case you can’t tell…we’re not calling the baby peanut..it’s Vegas, I’m sure you are all smart enough to figure out why)
