Anderson Farms Year 2

Saturday, we took Kael up to Anderson farms, this is the second year we’ve taken him (obviously, since he’s only 2, it would be hard for us to have taken him 4 or 5 times now). This year, their corn mazes were setup to look like Dinosaurs (not that you can really tell when you’re inside the maze..but its cool anyway)

Kael had a blast.. we were supposed to be meeting one of Kael’s friends up there..but something came up, so they couldn’t be there this week.. He was running around.. he spent a little time in the hay maze (not as much as I had expected, especially since the hay maze at this place lets you climb up onto the maze). His favorite ‘attraction’ there, was a wooden ‘kid-size’ train with like 5 cars that kids could climb in and on… we had to drag him away!

We also let him pick his own pumpkin from their pumpkin patch.. the only rule he had..was that he could have any pumpkin he could carry.. so.. there were a few times when he would look at a pumpkin, go over to it, try and pick it up, say “nope, too heavy.” and go try another one… when he found his pumpkin.. he announced it with a “oh, its a perfect pumpkin!”

Snow Day

As I mentioned previously, we got the first snow of the winter the other day.. and in addition to the power going out (yes, everything survived the power failure without damage) we did have time to go out and play in the snow. Most pictures are over on the gallery page (still looking for feedback on the Gallery software, feel free to comment if you have an opinion). But, here’s one of my favorites:

Toddler Wisdom 8

“Pepsi is yucky Daddy, Coke is yummy”

And really.. how can you argue with him? He’s right you know! (And for all you who are getting ready to jump up and down, and scream that I’m letting my 2 year old drink Pop.. I don’t….he’s just smart like that..)

Crazy Good Memory

So, last night when I got to work, I managed to lock my keys in the car (i was more concerned with making sure my iPod wasn’t still playing when I was taking it out).. Janice and Kael were nice enough to come bring me the spare key, and let me into my car.

While they were there, Sarah came down to see Kael… Kael has met Sarah once.. ever.. and it was for like 2 minutes.. I mention this fact, because it is an important detail..

Sarah went inside to go take her dinner break.. and Kael points at the door after she went inside and says “Sarah just went in for a minute, Sarah will be right back out”

We didn’t say her name the entire time she was out there… he just remembered her name from the one time he was introduced to her months ago…

We are in so much trouble as he gets older if he’s already remembering stuff this good

Toddler Wisdom 7

“Don’t lightsaber daddy!”

Obviously, this advice is worthless if you’re a Skywalker..but.. for the rest of us.. it’s pretty good advice…

And on a related note, if you have a smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the house, that can be tested via infrared (like a normal TV remote control), don’t let your toddler chase you around the house with a lightsaber, that sends out infrared beams to let the other toy in the set (a little Yoda that teaches you how to use your lightsaber) how the lightsaber is positioned!

Toddler Wisdom 6

“Don’t pee on the floor, pee in the potty”

This nugget of wisdom was uttered by Kael today, while Janice was getting him ready for bed (she’d gotten him bathed, and was getting his pjs ready).

Now while this might initially be seen as good…it wasn’t, you see as Kael was uttering these words of wisdom… he was peeing on the floor in his room!

When asked why he peed on the floor, after just telling himself not to pee on the floor.. he raised his hands (think raising your hands and shrugging for one of those ‘I don’t know moments’) and said “I just peed on the carpet”

Toddler Wisdom 5

“Daddy’s Strange”

I dunno if its really Wisdom.. but..

We took Kael to the park today, and I was playing with him.. at one point, he stood there watching me play on the playground..turned towards Janice and said “Daddy’s strange” and then turned away and was shaking his head!

I was speechless… I couldn’t do anything except start to laugh..

Toddler Wisdom IV

“Polar Bears Bite”

Janice took Kael to the zoo, the Polar bear cubs were playing with momma bear.. apparently, one of the cubs bit momma.. followed by Kael attempting to reprimand the bear “Don’t Bite!” and momma bear smacking baby bear into the pool. I was relayed this one, as I didn’t get to go to the zoo, because I had to go to work.
