Having just had Vegas’ 3D ultrasound done.. we thought it would be fun to see how much alike the kids look…even before they are born.

Look at the same pouty lips..same nose… these two look at lot alike…should be interesting to see if they keep that when she’s born.

Today (yesterday for those of you who actually use a calendar to determine what’s today, and what’s yesterday…) we went and got a 3D ultrasound taken of Baby Vegas (similar to the one we had done for Kael waaaaaay back when). We’ve got a bunch of pictures, a video (presumably with some really, really, cheesy music on it..we haven’t watched it yet).. and another confirmation that Vegas is still a girl.. here’s my favorite pic so far of the ultrasounds:
In case you’re having a hard time making it out, you should be able to locate (fairly easily, her hand, with two extended fingers) the portion of the image immediately to the right of that hand, is her face and head.. we’ve got pictures that show more detail on her face.. and I’ll put them up in a Gallery tomorrow..
As I mentioned previously, we got the first snow of the winter the other day.. and in addition to the power going out (yes, everything survived the power failure without damage) we did have time to go out and play in the snow. Most pictures are over on the gallery page (still looking for feedback on the Gallery software, feel free to comment if you have an opinion). But, here’s one of my favorites:
So, here in Colorado, we just had our first snowstorm of the season.. it was one of those really, really wet snows.. you know, the kind that breaks tree branches all over the place, and each flake of snow contains like 3 gallons of water. (I’ve got pictures of Kael playing that I’ll put up later, after I finish making sure everything recovered from the power outage gracefully).
The ironic item I actually intended to talk about? the ground outside my work is covered under..lets say 2-3 inches or so of this super wet snow.. and what do I see as I’m walking out the door to come home? Yup… the sprinklers are on, watering the snow….apparently, it just wasn’t wet enough for them…
Apparently, I live in the wrong state.. which is really a shame, because I like this state, and really, can’t imagine living anywhere else..
But first.. I miss the opportunity to work for Dreamhost, since I don’t even know where Brea California is (although..after that LA power outage, I know that Brea is close enough to LA to have been affected by it).
And now, it looks like I’ll miss an opportunity to work for Pixar. I wonder if either one of them would let me telecommute to do my job?

Ok.. granted..its just plastic held on by masking tape.. the outside of the house is being painted today… and the people doing the painting were nice enough to come by, offer us $10.00 to let them hook their power-washer up to our water faucet.. and then they went and trapped us inside..
They appear to have neglected to tell us that if we were in the house when they taped it up.. we’d be stuck in it (for..over 3 hours now..and no sign of them finishing anytime soon) or..that if we happened to not be home when they taped it up…that’d we be unable to get into our house…
Good thing I’ve got the day off.. I’m not sure work would understand me calling in ‘trapped in the house with no way to escape”
Janice and I were watching TV tonight.. and the trailer came on for Serenity, while it was running… it occured to me that there were some very good names in the series, that I hadn’t thought about adding to the ‘list’… so.. here’s my revised list:

So, I was reading FARK tonight at work, and I found a link to this article. It seems a guy in Omaha was a bit upset about the city telling him he had “excessive grass and weeds” in his yard.. to get back at the city, he exercised his first amendment rights.. and mowed his response into the lawn.. while no one will say anything other then ‘it was a two word expletive’.. I have a feeling its ‘fuck you’ as, that would be my response to someone telling me that I needed to mow more often. Here’s my favorite quote from the article:
City codes dictate that lawns taller than 10 inches can be ticketed, but Parks and Planning officials said that unless the grass that formed the expletive met that criterion, there was nothing they could do to force its removal.
My guess is, that the city (and neighbors probably) will be a bit more careful from now on about asking this guy to mow his lawn…
You’ve seen these things right? a two story mess of hard plastic tubes for kids to crawl around and play in, windows to look out, slides to go down right?
Yeah… those tubey things? So not made for someone in excess of 6′ tall.. my body doesn’t bend in the directions it needs to bend to crawl through those things…
And of course.. Kael found my constant self injury crawling through there after him absolutely hilarious.. “Daddy bonk head again! HAHAHAHAHA Do it again Daddy!”
Anyone know where I can get a new pair of knees… cheap?
