“I don’t want daddy to work at <insert Employer here>”

We were at the park, and I told him I had to leave to go to work.. I got told he didn’t want me to work at my current job. I asked where he wanted me to work. His response? “At home”.

I tried to explain to him that if I was working at home.. chances are I wouldn’t be getting much work done, since I’d want to play with him all the time… didn’t phase him in the slightest.. he still wants me to work from home (which would be nice).. so, anyone know any place thats hiring, to let me “work” at home (and by work.. I mean spend all day playing with the kids)?

“I can turn it down with my ears.”

While out running errands yesterday, we were listening to one of our iPods (oddly enough it was some of Kael’s music that we were listening to) and after telling us he wanted it louder, he decided it was to loud and should be quieter. He tells us he can turn it down with his ears, and we look back to see him sticking his fingers in his ears.

I want to be Kael when I grow up.

The actual conversation took place in the Dr.’s office yesterday. The Dr. had given Kael some tongue depressors to play with..so I asked him if he wanted to be a Dr when he grew up. He responded “I want to be a docor when I gwo up” followed by a brief pause and then “NO! I wanna be KAEL when I gwo up!”

Pain in the

So, I’m watching the Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants play in the playoff game… and Kael walks into the room, walks over to the TV, points at one guy on the screen and says:

“That guy is a pain in the Ass”

And then walks away… Of course.. I burst out laughing.. so he goes back and does it again, and again.. and eventually, it turns into the entire Panthers team being a pain in the ass…

Crazy Kid..

Happy Chanukah (late)

This past sunday was the last night of Chanukah. This year, we let Kael light the candles in the menorah.

yes..we let the two year old play with fire….what could possibly go wrong?

After saying the blessing, and lighting the candles, Kael would sing “Chanukah, Oh Chanukah” (or “We wish you a Merry Christmas”..depending on his mood)

“I like Cheerleaders”

The whole conversation, while watching the Broncos stomp all over the Chargers yesterday was this:

Kael: “Are those cheerleaders Daddy?”

Me: “Yes buddy, those are cheerleaders.”

Kael: “mmmmm… I like cheerleaders.”

Kid has good taste, the Chargers do have good looking Cheerleaders…

Potty time!

After his bath tonight, Kael asked if he could pee…. in the potty!

So, our little guy is taking his first steps toward potty training! And here everyone had been saying he would regress after Maryn’s arrival.. it appears to have spurred him forward instead.

His words upon finishing his business:

“And I didn’t need any help, I did it by myself. Can I have some m&ms?”

Last project

One project that Janice was really looking forward to doing with Kael while she was pregnant, was letting Kael paint her belly. Its also the one thing that just kept getting pushed off for one reason or another… obviously, tonight was our last chance..

So… here’s what they looked like when they started this little art project:

And…. here’s what they looked like when it was all said and done:

The floor and carpet both got their fair share of paint as well… and, while you can’t see it in this picture… Kael’s butt is covered in paint to (apparently, it wasn’t enough for him to paint the floor, he needed to sit on the floor to paint his butt)

Chanukah loot

We were originally going to do our Chanukah stuff on Sunday (the last day of Chanukah), but.. since Vegas is going to be making her arrival tomorrow, we did it tonight.

I’m sure this will come as a complete surprise… but Kael got the most stuph out of the three of us (I know… shocking isn’t it?)

Hilite of the evening? This conversation:

Me: “Kael, take mommy her present so she can open it.”

Kael: (while carrying the present he helped pick out over to Jan) “Here Nonny, I got you a radio, and it goes under the cabinets, open so you can see”

:sigh: Kid just doesn’t quite get the whole ‘surprise’ thing yet.. oh well.. should have expected it, since as soon as we bought it he went and told her what it was…. maybe next year he’ll learn to keep a secret!

Christmas loot

Kael made out like a bandit this year for Christmas. Lots of Thomas the tank engine stuff, lots of Bob the Builder stuff.. pretty much everything a two year old could want.

This is him screaming “Thomas Game! its a Thomas Game! Thomas Game!”

Jan and I did ok… She got knives (really, not sure who thought giving a pregnant lady sharp objects was a good idea), and other girly stuff. I got Firefly the series on DVD, and Serenity…

Kael got me a pair of lightsabers “so we can play star wars togedder daddy” What a sweet kid…
