One of the items released to the public at today’s WWDC keynote, was a public beta of Safari v3.. now bringing speedy W3c compliant web browsing to the boring ass windows platform.
Beta available here.. haven’t heard a actual release date yet.  The blurb about it look good, and I’ll be giving the Mac version a workout in a bit..

Appears that some strippers in Pasadena were charged with “excessive nudity”.
Huh? how can you be excessively nude.. either you’re nude..or you’re not. Seems pretty simple to me..or were these strippers taking their skin off, and running around in just their muscles and bones? Because.. I guess that would be a bit excessive..but really.. I just don’t see that happening…
The Larimer County (Colorado) Sheriff gets it.. he understands that “Gun Free Zones” are equal to “Gauranteed Victim Zones”..nothing like providing crazy folk with designated, unprotected areas to use to kill people… He (and rightly so) is calling for more campuses to allow students who are licensed to carry their weapon, to do so. (Utah has it in their state laws that campuses can’t prohibit licensed concealed carriers from carrying…and they’ve had no all out gun fights over someone cutting in line at the cafeteria like Sarah Brady and her yahoos would have you believe will happen on a daily basis).
If legislators keep making areas where law abiding citizens are unable to defend themselves, then legislators are guaranteeing that we will have another mass killing incident. Apparently, legislators haven’t figured out, that criminals, by definition, don’t care what the law is…
Made the jump to WordPress tonight. Stuff is probably broke ;) the WordPress importer seems to have worked, looks like all of the “old” site’s stuff is here.. permalinks to the old stuff are going to result in 404 errors… I took the “easy” way out and didn’t spend all night trying to re-write the .htaccess to do the redirects..
Looks like its time to change blogging software..
In addition to not having updated Movable Type in ages… SixApart has apparently been busy censoring the users of their LiveJournal service.
Of course they are saying they were trying to ‘protect the children’…
Sixapart..here’s a newsflash for you.. I don’t need, or WANT you to ‘protect’ my kids…I’m a parent..thats my job… Your censorship has cost you a customer.. I’m going to actively look into switching to another blogging software… probably wordpress..
(and yes..I get the irony in ‘actively’ looking for blogging software for a blog that is less then active…but I’m going to start blogging more again…for real this time)
By now, you’ve heard about the 1100 pound ‘feral’ hog killed by an 11 year old way back at the beginning of May..
Turns out… the feral hog.. wasn’t so feral… seems the hog’s name was Fred.. and the ‘hunting’ area… was a large fenced in area..
